They probably fit right in when they opened, but as the decades passed, other similar businesses faded and now it is an area of bars and funky shops, making them the oddity. Daniel as the business that least belongs. If I am not mistaken, JHD has been in that location in the old city since before the old city became the old city. It is one of the few links to Knoxville's glorious industrial past and the city's old nickname of "underwear capital of the world".
